Austrian Specialties
For Valentine's Day, Darren and I decided to try making Wiener Schnitzel in honor of his mission to Austria all those many years ago. I pulled out the little cookbook I bought while Darren and I were in Austria back in 2006.
We had a great time - I think beyond grilling, this is the most Darren has ever cooked! (What Marni means, is this is the most complicated thing Darren has ever cooked!) Basically, it's just breaded veal, pork, or chicken that is then fried. Darren was a natural at frying the schnitzel.
The final product was very tasty and I think we realized it wasn't as complicated as we thought it would be. Maybe we'll try a more complex Austrian recipe next time like Fiakergulasch - with a name like that, its gotta be more of a challenge.

Hey Marn,
Your food looks yummie! What a good little wife! I attempted a Danish dessert this weekend. It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be either. I know you guys are probably pretty busy, but I would love to get together sometime if you have some time. I travel up to Ogden quite a bit. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.
Fiakergulasch?
I don't know whether to say "Bless you" or "Watch your language, this is a Christian home."
