Caleb's First Field Trip
This last week, Caleb experienced his first pre-school field trip! Darren even took the morning off of work so he could come with us. We headed off to Black Island Farms in Syracuse for an adventure.
First, we went on a hayride (minus the hay) out to the pumpkin patch. Caleb had to sit up front so he could be close to the tractor pulling the trailer we were in.
Then, we got to go pick our own pumpkin out.
When we got back from the pumpkin patch, Caleb asked the tractor driver if he could sit in the tractor. The worker was so nice and let him sit in it and showed him how to honk the horn. It made Caleb's day.
Here is his pre-school class. Yup, I was the one mom who forgot to dress her child in the school t-shirt. They had to show off their pumpkins.
Then we headed out to the field where they had all sorts of activities set up. They had animals you could feed and pet. They had this fun picture stand which Caleb wouldn't fully put his face through.
They had a bunch of water pumps all set up so you could do rubber ducky races. Caleb cared less about the duckies, he just wanted to keep pumping water.
Then there were the big hay slides. I had to help Caleb climb up the cargo net a couple of times.
And then Darren got his turn.
The last thing we visited was a little stand that had musical instruments made out of old farming gear. Caleb loved the metal drums . . . mom on the other hand had a headache afterwards.
