Jackson Hole Adventure

All summer long we have be telling the boys that we were taking them on vacation to Jackson Hole.  It always seemed so far away, but holy moly, it came and it went and we had a great time!!

Thank goodness for the Burger King in Star Valley - the play land was exactly what we needed for the boys to get their wiggles out.  And the crowns were a complete bonus.
Needless to say, we made it there safely and our vacation began.  The first thing we did?  Go see a movie.  That may seem strange, but Caleb has been wanting to see Minions since the preview first started showing.  So we hit up the local movie theater and saw Minions...dressed like this.  I think Caleb wanted to blend in with the crowd :)

The next morning, our vacation started for real!  We took the boys up to Teton Village and went up the aerial tram.  Caleb wasn't so sure about it but Noah loved it!  It was so beautiful.
Luckily for us, the tram goes back down!  We walked (hiked would be too strong of a word for what we did) around the top of the mountain for a little bit and then went back down.   Got some selfies in on the tram back down :)
We figured that since it was vacation, we would splurge and let the boys do some of the cool activities they have up there - namely the bungee trampoline.  It was so much fun to listen to Caleb giggle the whole time!  Noah, on the other hand, called for "mommy" a few times, but once he started bouncing a little smaller, he was tentatively happy.
Off we went to Jenny Lake for the afternoon.  We took the ferry over and walked with the rest of the masses to Hidden Falls.  Neither of the boys really wanted to pose for pics, but we the parents felt the need to document - so the smiles were a little few and far between at times.
The next morning, we ate at this fabulous Gluten Free/Vegan place we found that had donuts Caleb could eat.  He was in HEAVEN!!  We hit the place up for breakfast 2 out of the 3 days for breakfast solely so Caleb could get the donuts.
After the voraciously eaten donuts were gone, we headed off to the Snow King area to do the Alpine Slide.  Caleb was a little hesitant to get on the ski lift, but he bucked up and did fine.
Caleb asked to go down the slide with Darren, so that meant me and Noah were partners.  It was a blast.  Both boys loved it and Caleb asked to do it again.  I think I was the faster driver :)
After the Alpine Slide, we walked around downtown Jackson for a while - checking out souvenirs and the Farmers Market and all the loud motorcycles going by.  We followed that up with lunch - which was an adventure in itself.  Caleb, being the crazy friendly kid that he is, befriended the staff at the restaurant we went to.  He teased our waitress about wanting to work there and he was so adamant about it that she gave him an apron like all the servers were wearing.  He asked if he could keep it and she said "Yes".  So, now we have an official serving apron in our dress up bin!
We ended our time there with the big Covered Wagon Cookout at the Bar T5 Ranch.  Caleb got all duded up for the event and definitely looked the part.
So we rode in a covered wagon up a canyon where the ranch has a great set up of tables and dutch ovens all set and waiting.  On the ride up, we were "attacked" by Indians and "saved" by a crazy mountain man.  Caleb ate it all up.  Then when we arrived, we had a great dutch oven meal and entertainment.  They had audience participation and a cowboy band - Caleb couldn't have asked for anything more.  He even got to go up with other kids and help sing a song.  Noah was pretty happy about the audience participation too.  It was just a flat out awesome night for our little family.
All good things must come to an end - Caleb was sad to learn the next morning that we were headed home and "not doing anything fun" . . . but me and Darren were ready and rearin' to get home.
