Noah's pediatrician suggested that we see an ENT because Noah's tonsils looked a little big to him. The ENT took one look at Noah's tonsils and said that they needed to come out and that most likely, his adenoids would need to be removed also. A couple days later, we went in for the surgery and Noah had absolutely no idea what was about to happen. He was such a trooper. Don't look at the first picture unless you want to see his actual removed tonsils (the ENT says they looked like big meatballs).
I think the worst part for Noah was waking up and not having me there - they don't let you see them until they come to the recovery unit. So by the time they came to get me, he was in full blown tears and barely breathing. Thankfully I was able to calm him down and get him to nap.
The next time he woke up, he was all about taking advantage of mom letting him have his iPad. Seriously, he did so good.
I will admit that we all ate more ice cream over the last couple of weeks - in support of Noah of course - than we have . . . EVER.
Just like the ENT told me would, Noah bounced back almost immediately from the surgery and he was back to his rambunctious self within days and it killed him to not be able to eat chips or any other scratchy food. When we got clearance from the doctor to resume normal eating, the first thing Noah requested was french fries - and he enjoyed every last one of them.
