For Caleb's birthday, he decided to have a "Day of Caleb" rather than to have a party with friends. So we basically did everything he wanted.
The first thing he wanted to do was go to breakfast. His first option was Ruth's Diner . . . but an hour wait due to heavy rain deterred us from that and we just had breakfast at the Corner Bakery.
While we were at breakfast, there were 2 policeman having breakfast too. Caleb and Noah kept eyeballing them and finally went over and said hi to them. The cops were awesome and when they found out it was Caleb's birthday, they let him (and Noah) sit in their cars and turn on the lights and sirens. I'm sure the people still eating inside had an earful.
Caleb's next destination was the zoo. Thankfully the rain had stopped - which was great because no one was at the zoo because of the rain. The lions were being super active and we had a front row seat. The boys were amazed.
After the zoo, we went to the park to have a treat and open presents. (I didn't even have to bake a birthday cake!!)
Last, we went to the Children's Museum at the Gateway. The boys had a great time - they especially loved the helicopter on the roof.
