The week ahead

First off, thanks for all your positive thoughts and prayers. We really appreciate everyone's support during this time and all the offers of help. Darren's diagnosis has made us keenly aware of the family and friends that we have and how blessed we are to have them.

This week we meet with the lymphoma specialist to set his chemo regimen. But first, he has a PET Scan on Tuesday to determine how aggressive the chemo needs to be (this scan will show if the cancer has spread to other lymph nodes throughout his body). Then on Wednesday, we meet with the specialist and that is followed by a bone marrow biopsy.

So hopefully we will know a little more of what the next few months will be filled with by the end of the week. Again, we thank everyone for their concern and their willingness to help.

We just found out today from Steve and Sheryl about Darren. What a shocker! Now I know better to go so long between reading blogs. I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions you both must be feeling. It seems strange to say that I am so glad to hear he has the "good cancer," but I am. It is so wonderful to hear how optimistic you are, and you should be!
We'll be back to read the updates, and he will be in our prayers.

Our prayers are with you. It's interesting how quickly life can change. Something I've come to understand more and more lately is that a life without struggle and trials is no life at all. We need these things to transform and mold our character so that eventually we become that person God intended us to be. I hope everything goes well this week. Stay strong!

I can't believe you guys have to go through this. I am so sorry. However, you both are very strong individuals and I know Darren will be done with chemo and cancer free in no time! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
