Radiation wrapped up

Today was Darren's last day of radiation treatment. Yippee!! According to Darren, radiation was a cinch compared to chemo. Over the last 4 weeks he has hasn't minded heading all the way Huntsman everyday for treatment and he has typically left treatment with a smile on his face. Definitely a big difference from leaving Huntsman after chemo. Darren now has 4-6 weeks off before his next scan.

Darren hasn't really experienced the severe "sunburn" that we were expecting from the radiation. If you look really hard at the picture below, you can see that his left arm is slightly pinker than the right arm, but it's pretty minimal.

As you can see in this lovely picture - Darren has HAIR!! This picture is after multiple trimmings to even out the crazy hair growth. He's even getting hair in places he didn't have it before! And his mustache grows super quick - which it didn't do before. I'm sure we will notice more cancer induced changes over the next few months.

Other than all this radiation stuff, life has been pretty quiet. We're
still waiting to be matched for an adoption...it's hard waiting, but we know that it will happen when it's right. We're both looking forward to summer and being outside more and hopefully planning some fun weekend getaways.

I am so glad that radiation is over and that it wasn't too bad for Darren! Congrats on growing some hair. That is pretty exciting! We will have to get together again soon! You are in my thoughts and prayers!
