October in a nutshell

It's been a pretty busy October for the Downs family. The month just seemed to fly by. One of the major events was me and Caleb flying down to Houston for a week to visit my 2 sisters and their families. I was excited to go - but the idea of a 1 yr old on a 3 hour flight made my stomach pretty darn nervous. Thankfully, Grandma volunteered to come with us - I don't know what I would have done without her . . . I don't think she'll want to travel with us again.

As always, I'm horrible at documenting these kind of things - I only have 2 pictures from our time there. Here is Caleb with his cute cousin Kate - they fought over who got to be held by Grandma quite frequently.

Caleb loved it down there - he was surrounded by cousins and had more freedom than he does at home. He went through withdrawal when we got home - he would just wander around looking for everyone. Thanks to Em and Linds for a great week!

Last week I got the chance to hang out with 2 of my college roommates - its crazy to think we have known each other for almost 15 years . . . we are getting too old. Mercedes and Kim and I met the summer of 1996 when we were Freshmen at BYU - those were the days :)
Thanks for organizing the quick visit Schmedes!

Caleb caught a cold while we were in Texas so I figured we'd give him a steam bath in the shower . . . now taking a shower is a treat . . . he'll stay in there as long as we'll let him.

Halloween was actually pretty fun this year. If you can't tell from the pictures, Caleb was a spider. We went to our ward's Trunk or Treat and Caleb actually carried around his little Frankenstein bucket as we went trunk to trunk. Once he got that first sucker in his bucket, that was the end of his walking - all he wanted was that sucker. Of course, Mom and Dad were party poopers and didn't dress up . . . nothing new there.

Here are some random pictures from the month -
Caleb looking handsome as ever.

Pre-church outfits . . . by the time we get home, there are graham crackers and other treats mushed into his clothes all over the place :)

Lots of good times! I had a lot of fun with you and Schmedes. I wish I could have stayed longer. We definitely need to get together.
