Easter Saturday began with the Downs family get together at Grandma Lu's house. Darren's dad was a firefighter and LuAnn has kept some of his things from that time including these hats on the boys.
Then we headed outside for our first Easter egg hunt of the holiday. Noah wasn't quite sure what was going on. He was content with walking around with one egg in his hand (or mouth) while everyone else was scattered around looking for eggs.
A partial fam photo . . . its hard to get everyone together!
After we headed home and naps were had, it was time for the boys to get their Spring hair cuts! Caleb has dubbed Darren to be "Daddy Barber" since he is the one wielding the clippers. Gotta love Caleb's "manly" physique!
Yup, we buzzed off Noah's curls again. Darren likes both boys with short hair . . . I'm a little partial to Noah's curls . . . . but I will admit that the short hair is way easier to do!
The final activity of the day . . . dyeing Easter eggs. Caleb did so great this year! He picked his colors and put the eggs in. In the beginning, he let me help. By the end, he was using his fingers to pull the eggs out and bounce them around from color to color. I have to remind myself that he is 3 and he really doesn't care what the eggs look like!
We got Noah in on the fun too. It took a couple of times to get him to put the egg in the dye cup than in his mouth . . .
SUCCESS!!!
"I am a Samurai egg decorator"!!!
And Noah just laughs at his brother . . .
On to Easter morning. We had a great morning! The Easter Bunny did a good job finding things to put in the boys baskets . . .
But darn that bunny for leaving paw prints all over my kitchen floor!!!
Yummy cinnamon rolls for Easter breakfast.
We decked the boys out for church this year. Now that I have 2 boys, I wanted to do the whole matching thing as brothers. So I got them matching outfits in different colors and I must say they both looked extremely handsome. Caleb had to have orange (of course).
Our last Easter fun of the holiday - heading to Grandma and Grandpa Richards house for another Easter egg hunt and family dinner. We love this pic of Grandma and Caleb! Caleb didn't want to change out of his church clothes - he left them on all day!
With this being Noah's third egg hunt of the holiday, he finally caught on and was an egg finding machine. He didn't care that he had to crawl in bushes and get dirty!
Family fun - I bet my mom hid about 30 plus eggs for the 2 boys . . . so by the end, I'll admit that I started sneaking the eggs in to the boys baskets just so we could be done. Gotta love that grandma's want to do so much for their grandkids!
Yet another holiday that I am glad won't be back for another 365 days.
