4th of July 2013

We escaped up to my parents cabin over the 4th of July long weekend.  Luckily, some friends came along and then family joined us and we had a great time!  The weather was a little crazy though . . . it'd be beautiful and blue skies out and then the rolling clouds would come in and drench us.  We had a blast!

As always, we had to go down to the river to explore and throw rocks.  A massive find was a small dead fish that all the kids insisted on touching . . . yuck!

Just running around having a good time!
Time for 4th of July sparklers!
 Noah's first sparkler!
Gotta do s'mores out by the fire.  Here are the kiddos - couldn't get  a smile out of my boys . . .

Caleb loves the ATV's.  He sits on them all the time and pretends to be driving.   He talks about how when he gets "big enough" that Grandpa will let him drive all by himself.  Thankfully that time is still over 10 years from now!
Noah walked around with helmets on all weekend.  He'd cry if you took it off.  At least if he fell anywhere his noggin was protected!
 Kate still lovin' on Noah
Another day at the river . . . with family this time.

Caleb decided a mud bath was in order while playing at the river.  I figured it couldn't hurt him so I let him go full on in . . . he didn't think ahead though that mom would dunk him in the freezing river water to rinse him off . . .

It was a GREAT long weekend . . . but it was also so great to come home.  On to the rest of the summer!
