No Kids Long Weekend? Yes, please

We had the chance to get away to the San Francisco area for a few days with some friends of ours.  Our friends nephew is a pitcher for the Oregon Ducks and they were playing a series with Stanford that weekend and we tagged along with them.  We got to watch some baseball, eat great food, see the coastline and enjoy some time away from our children whom we love so dear.

While there, we hit up a historical restaurant along the coastline, the Cliff House.  Great food, great friends, great views, horrible weather . . . can't have everything :)
Since it was raining pretty hard in San Fran, we headed indoors to the Exploratorium - this is the only pic we took but its a doozy as this is made out of tooth picks.  I think it was made with over 30,000 tooth picks if my memory is correct.
The Mendocino coast line.  Luckily it cleared up for us about 30 minutes later and we were able to enjoy walking around Mendocino.

We decided to stay at a hotel right on the coast for our last night and boy was it a nice view from the porch of our room.  Not a bad way to end a trip!

No worries - the kids were well taken care of in our absence.  Beyond Janessa, their cousin, coming and staying with them - they had visits from both Grandma's and other cousins.  Grandma Cathy sent pics documenting that my crazy boys were alive and kicking and eating at Chick Fil A!

On the last day of our trip, we stopped to do a short hike before driving back to San Francisco.  It was WAY off the beaten path, but turned out to be so worth it.  The huge redwood trees are just amazing.  Darren could have stayed and taken pictures for the whole day, but alas, we had a plane to catch and kids to see :)

Noah liked his souvenir - he's a big hat fan like his dad!
