Happy 4th of July

It's been an eventful long weekend for Darren and me.

We spent 4th of July afternoon with Darren's family. 2 of his nieces were in town visiting . . . Molly made quick friends of them both. Darren is always a favorite with the kids . . .probably because he acts like one :)

Friday night we hung out with some friends that live across the street from us. We were all too lazy to go outside and watch any fireworks . . . we saw a few through the windows, but that was it for us this year.

Our goal on Saturday morning was to finish our landscaping. We got 95% complete due to a complication with some wiring and our sprinkler system. But we at least got some flowers planted which has given our front yard some much needed color.

This is our favorite flower that we planted. A bright yellow gerber daisy.

I also got to do lunch on Saturday with 2 old roommates of mine, one of whom I haven't seen since the night before my wedding. Its always fun to get together with old friends and chat and realize again why you were friends in the first place.

Both Darren and I had to teach today - he in Young Mens and me in Relief Society. Soooo glad that's over. Not really my favorite thing to do.

Well, with everything we did, we're both pretty wiped as evidenced by Darren's afternoon nap. Hope everyone had a good 4th of July weekend.

It was super fun seeing you this past weekend. Seriously, come up and visit if you are ever bored. You can even bring Darren :)

Your yard is mighty impressive!
