Bald (or extremely close shaven) is Beautiful

Last night was the big night - Darren shaved his head as a pre-emptive strike against his hair falling out due to the chemo. The cool part is that Darren didn't have to do it alone. Some of the guys in the neighborhood decided to shave their heads too to show their support for Darren. So, they made the head shaving into a party. Here are some of the pictures from the shindig:

Here's Darren's BEFORE picture:

The party was a huge success and the kids just thought watching everybody get their heads shaved was the funniest thing.

Thanks to everyone that came - we feel extremely grateful to live where we do in a neighborhood full of such amazing people.

It's a relief to know that should your husband ever go bald naturally, you at least don't have to worry about a misshapen head emerging.

Please keep a beanie around for those cold Fall days.

D,
The hair cut looks good! Towel drying the head has to be nice!

Start stocking up on the "skull caps" for the winter.

What an amazing support system! Sounds like you have some great friends. I'm glad the Chemo is working. But Darren, don't over do it. You don't have to prove to anyone that you are a super-hero. Take the time you need to rest. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so glad you guys have such a wonderful neighborhood of supporters!! Looks like Darren's making up for the lack of hair on top, by having hair on the face. It's a good look. :)

I've been checking in on your blog lately, but haven't left a comment. I hope all continues to go well with Darren. You're lucky to have such a great support system! I'd tell Travis to shave his had, but he doesn't have any hair!!!
