Cycle 1, Day 7

The good news is that Darren is doing great! He has gone to work both yesterday and today which is very encouraging. One of the amazing things is that the size of his tumor is already visibly smaller (as seen below). As you may know, it was 22 cm in length in the forearm and looks to be a little less than that now to the naked eye. :) No more Popeye arm for Darren...I am sure he will be OK with that.

If most days in between chemo are like this, we would be sooooo happy. Darren is able to be physically active - I have dragged him to the gym with me the last 2 days (the doctors encouraged him to exercise so I am now his own personal drill sergeant). He is eating pretty normal - pizza cravings are not uncommon. His taste buds have definitely changed a bit considering he used to love Caesar Salads, but we found out the other night that has changed. And he is finally starting to sleep better.

Again, we thank everyone for their well wishing and prayers. Its so comforting to know you have so many people behind you.

Ey kiekiekiekie! My feeble attempt at Popeye. Won't happen again. Any spinach cravings? ;)

Wow, that is amazing!!! What a blessing that he is reacting so well.

Ah, Marni the drill sargent. Has she pulled out the line, "pain is weakness leaving your body" yet?

She would say that to me in our few stints at running/walking together. I didn't like hearing it but I felt better once she took me on a frozen yogurt run later that night.

Make sure you are still getting those milkshakes. Obviously that coupled with chemo is making all of the difference.

Darren, I haven't checked your family blog for a while, and just found out about you news. I'm sorry you have to go through this, but it sounds like you have an amazing wife behind you. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep you in my prayers. Good luck. Hopefully it will just continue to get better, and much faster than you anticipate.
