If only Halloween was a one day affair . . .but no, it is dragged out and requires multiple days of costumes and candy. I don't mean to whine, but seriously!!
Event #1 - one of my college roomies threw a Halloween party. And one of the requirements was that not only the children had to be in costumes, but so did the adults. People that know Darren and me know that we are not big fans of dressing up - and that's probably a big understatement. But Darren and I took one for the team and dressed up so Caleb could attend the party ;)
Caleb is Mickey Mouse, I'm static cling, and Darren is a "Smartie Pants" (he has Smarties taped to his pants)
They did a little candy hunt for the little ones . . . Caleb's first candy of the "holiday".
On the way home, Darren specifically said he had a good time - he shouldn't be surprised by that when Bri is the hostess. Thanks Bri and Todd, we had a great time!
Event #2 Next we had our neighborhood/ward Trunk or Treat. Here is Caleb with some of his favorite people, the Humphries. Saying he is attached to Jon (the dad, not the kid the same age :) )is an understatement. Caleb stayed with the Humphries while Darren and I were in Costa Rica and ever since then, Jon has been his favorite. Thankfully Jon puts up with it :) As it goes, this is really the only picture I got at the event . . . whoops. It was at the Trunk or Treat that Caleb learned if he said "treat" when he walked up to people, they put candy in his little pumpkin bucket. It was like a light went on in his head. Thankfully that request only works during October.
Event #3 This morning, the gym daycare threw a little Halloween party. They took the kids all around the gym and did a little parade and they got to trick or treat in the classes. Caleb's smile was so big!! He even left his mouse ears on the whole time.
Event #4 And lastly, Halloween night. I finally buckled down and got some good pictures of him in his little mouse costume. He was a good little Mickey Mouse! Even got a good one with Grandma and Grandpa Richards and some of us out trick or treating. Thanks for coming Papa and Ma!!
