We figured that since we hadn't gone anywhere all summer long, we should do a last minute get away before school started.
I found us a "glamping" experience at Capitol Reef. We would be staying in a re-purposed covered wagon!!
Day 1 - We left in the early afternoon and made it down to Southern Utah in time for us to make the horse back riding adventure I had booked us.
The boys were super excited to ride horses again. We had ridden horses during our cruise last year and the boys were thrilled to show off that they had done it before. We chose our head gear and we were on our way.
The people that ran the horse adventure turned out to be members of the Church!
We had such a great time exploring the beautiful canyons and talking to the tour guides.
The boys handled themselves like pros.
We were starving after our horse back riding and we found a very highly ranked burger food truck just a few minutes away.
The reviews were well deserved - we had a mac'n'cheese with bacon burger and it was AMAZING.
I think Darren's burger had pulled pork on it . . .
And the we had to follow that up with dessert!
Day 2 -
Off to breakfast we go.
As I walked behind them, its amazing how grown up my boys are.
Caleb is already taller than me and Noah won't be far behind.
While we were eating breakfast, the guys that do the horses also do llama tours and they were bringing the llamas up to the meeting place for their morning adventure.
Our boys HAD to go pet the llamas.
Then we spent the rest of the day hiking and exploring Capitol Reef!
From what I can remember, we ended our day at a local Mexican restaurant.
And what else I remember, but didn't document, was that Darren let the boys order 4 desserts so they could try them all!!
I'm actually quite shocked that I don't have pictures of all the food we ate . . .
Day 3 -
More hiking and more hiking.
We had a great time in Capitol Reef and now the boys are ready to start school!!
