4th Grade Ski Trip

This January was the annual 4th Grade Ski Trip.
Caleb really wanted me to come . . . I haven't been skiing since I married Darren!!
But I did it - I rented skis and headed up to Nordic Valley with Caleb and his class.
Anyone who knows Caleb is aware that he isn't all that coordinated and I was so worried that he wouldn't have fun.  But he was such a good sport and tried so hard.

He loved riding on the "magic carpet" to the top of the bunny hill and then making his way down (usually with a couple of falls along the way)

He told me that he was good and that I could go ski on the big hill.  So I hopped on the lift and headed up the mountain.  I was pretty nervous considering I hadn't skied in over 15 years and it was snowing like crazy.  But I made it down the mountain in one piece and headed over to check on Caleb.
Unfortunately for me, he was done.  I got one run in.  I guess that's better than none.

According to Caleb, the best part of the field trip was the chicken fingers and hot chocolate I got him afterwards.
I was just glad we made it home - driving home was white out conditions in some places and I was very white knuckled.
