With our check out time being 10am and our flight not til 9pm, we knew we were going to have to fill our last day with no water related activities.
Thank goodness for a volcano crater to explore!
We loaded up all our stuff and headed towards Haleakala. It was at least a 2 hour drive from our resort but it was worth it. It was like alien terrain. The clouds were amazing.
And it was a whopping 50 degrees.
We stopped at the outlooks and scenic areas and just enjoyed our last day in Maui.
After Haleakala, we stopped in Paia for a treat - Caleb and me for ice cream and the rest for shaved ice.
We shopped around in Paia and Noah used $60 of his own money to buy an art piece from a local artisan gallery - a glass shark with metal in it.
We had an easy dinner at Maui Tacos near the airport and then off to the airport we went.
Our flight went off without a hitch . . . Grandma and Grandpa on the other hand, spent a full 24 hours at the airport before flying out the following night.
We had a layover in LA . . .can you tell that Noah was ready to be done and home??
It was a great trip. A great way to spend Spring Break. Great family time.
